5-year outlook–

5-year outlook: Not shown because confidence is low: EV/EBITDA (12x) disagrees strongly.

Other models: GBP 1.38–14.17 (median 7.77). The recommended value is in line with them.

Why: Free cash flow is positive and in line with earnings, and the dividend is small, so a cash-flow DCF fits best.

Start with the price and fair value range, then review the data dates and assumptions below. Estimates are not predictions or investment advice.

Free-cash-flow DCF

Market price within modeled range

Free-cash-flow DCF using Fiscal year 2025 reported free cash flow, with cash, debt, and shares from the latest report. Base assumptions are 3% growth, 2.2% terminal growth, and 8.6% discount. Low/high cases vary growth by 2 and terminal growth/discount by 1 percentage point; this illustrative range is not a statistical confidence interval or investment advice.

Assumptions: growth 3% (limited from 3.51% because the latest annual revenue declined), discount rate 8.60%, terminal growth 2.20%. See a worked example.

Blended growth assumption: 3.5% (sector default 4.0%, own revenue history 7.2%, analyst revenue consensus 1.4%).

Analyst consensus expects revenue growth of 1.4% a year; the growth assumption used is 3.0%.

Adjust assumptions

Why this model: Free cash flow is positive and in line with earnings, and the dividend is small, so a cash-flow DCF fits best.

  • Recommended: Free-cash-flow DCF — GBP 1.42 (-6.2%)
  • EPS-based Gordon proxy — not applicable
Not used: Cannot be computed: net income is zero or negative.
  • DCF (trailing free cash flow) — GBP 1.42 (-6.2%)
Not used: Not chosen: Free-cash-flow DCF ranks ahead of it for this company.
  • FCFF (steady state) — GBP 1.38 (-8.7%)
Not used: Assumes only the long-run terminal growth rate from today, so it ignores the near-term growth expected.
  • EV/EBITDA (12x) — GBP 14.17 (+838.4%)
Not used: Used only when free cash flow is far below earnings even after averaging three years; a fixed 12x multiple also ignores sector differences.
  • Fade DCF (10-year growth fade) — GBP 1.41 (-6.3%)
Not used: An alternative growth path (fading over 10 years) shown for comparison; the automatic choice does not use it.
  • EV/Sales (Rule of 40) — GBP 25.86 (+1612.4%)
Not used: Used only for technology and communication companies whose cash-flow value is far below the price.

Margin = (value − price) / value, so it is measured against the value and reads lower than the upside to value, which is measured against the price. Positive means the price is below that case.

Market-implied expectations (reverse DCF) 4.9% FCF growth / yr

At GBP 1.51 the market implies about this annual free-cash-flow growth for 5 years (terminal 2.2%, discount 8.6%).

Compare: the market implies 4.9% a year, this model assumes 3.0%. The market expects more than this model does, which is why it reads as overvalued.
